Whether each speaker is addressed by name where necessary, ensuring that remarks can be attributed where required.
How the meeting is moderated – boisterous and noisy sessions where people speak over each other can make speech extraction virtually impossible.
Where possible avoid having coffee or tea breaks within the actual recording session. Clinking of cups and saucers, or even noisy biscuit munching can completely obscure the speech, resulting in disjointed transcripts. Try to ensure that time is made available prior to the commencement of any recording.
